My Coaching Approach

My mission is to help

multiculturals get clear and

confident in transition.

Multiculturals

I'm using this term in a broad sense to focus on individuals who identify themselves with more than one culture.

For example, this could mean that you are an immigrant, an expat, a mixed race individual, have dual or multi-nationalities, or have a partner or family whom reside in another country.

I believe that those from a multicultural background face different challenges when it comes to transitions, because your cultural identity, values, and support network may look very different from that of a mono-cultural person's.

Despite my focus on multicultural clients, I'm open to work with you regardless of your background, experience, profession, race or ethnicity. Where you identify yourself as being on the multiculturalism 'spectrum' also does not matter.

Read more about multiculturalism in this article from the Harvard Business Review and my blog entry "Why Multiculturalism".

Getting Clear and Confident in Transitions

When faced with major transitions and decisions, we often require mental clarity to help us rationalise our thinking. In coaching sessions, we may dig deep to understand your feelings, so you can make the most informed decisions accompanied by practical and achievable actions.

Typically, my clients are going through big transitions such as:

➡️ Navigating a career direction that works for them
➡️ Learning to be better leaders in organisations
➡️ Adapting to a cultural differences as immigrants
➡️ Climbing a big learning curve as new business owners or freelancers

Coaching provides a non-judgmental, open, collaborative and confidential space between coach and client — focusing on the client’s own thoughts, challenges, outcomes and goals. Instead of focusing on the problem or remedy, we will work through what an ideal means to you and how we could get there. I practise Transformative Coaching, meaning that we may discover that changes need to be made in more than one aspect in your life.

After our coaching sessions, my clients have walked away with:

💡 Informed decisions
💃 Increased confidence and motivation
📝 Practical and achievable plans
😄 Healthier and happier minds

I hold high standards in my practice and I work with a Coaching Supervisor on a regular basis.

Where are the sessions?

My coaching programmes and packages are provided online, which means that I could work with you wherever you are based. You can choose to use Zoom, Google Meet, or I can simply give you a call on WhatsApp.

So far, my client base has spanned across the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States and Canada.

Although 1:1 coaching is offered in English by default, I could offer coaching in Cantonese where required.

What's a 1:1 session like?

A typical session will feel like a flowing conversation. As a coach I will ask questions to understand and dig deeper into your current situation, allow space for you to think, and may come across challenging occasionally.

Our sessions will be client-centric - meaning that I will tailor my approach to your personality, needs and goals.

As a client, it is useful to have something you'd like to aim for in mind. We can also use the sessions to help explore a topic area that you wish to focus on. We will also co-create tangible outcomes or tasks that will help you on your change.

Sounds good, what next?

It is important to note that coaching also requires commitment from you as a client. So before we commit to coaching sessions, I would offer a free, no obligation 1-hour call with you to go through what we would like to explore roughly, and how we could work together most effectively.

On this call you only need to bring yourself - and if the sessions are deemed suitable, be committed and prepared for change.
